The second photo from my trip to a forest near my home. See my previous picture, "Wild Forest" for more info on that; [link]

I'm no expert photographer, as this is the first time I've really submitted any of my photos, so experts please go easy on me! Whereas the last one was, I think, a good picture on its own, this is more to give you an idea of the kind of beauty that there was to capture in that small patch of woodland on a sunny day. I loved how the light filtered through the leaves and branches, so this is an attempt to capture that effect. I really like the vast detail here, and the amount of trees and leaves crammed in. The different shadow and light bits of the leaves too are really nice, and the effect of the light coming in on the nearby trunks.

Again, comments appreciated, especially from photographers! =D

I aint no photographer Ollie but i like your forest pictures very much! The only thing i can suggest is maybe resizing them by half. They are way too big to see the whole picture :( I have to scroll down the page three or four times to see the bottom.

Yeah, sorry, I guess they are a bit big. My screen resolution just got alot bigger with this laptop, so it doesn't fit too badly for me. I was more going for the detail than the overall impression of the pic though, so that's why they're high res. =)

I dunno why.. but I LOVE those branches.. they looks so... defined.

Wow...lots of green! I love the color and contrast/lighting in this, and the perspective really makes you feel like you're in the forest! I think I know a certain grey-furred cat-girl who'd feel right at home there. :)

The way you've presented this awesome view is like looking out the window to nature's backyard! Your pic is so clear and beautiful...makes wanna go camping. The trees sure look majestic! A very lovely view! ^^

This is a really nice photo too. I can see why you like it so much there. It must be lovely to walk around and listen to the sound of a gentle breeze going through the branches. Again, the lighting is great! It's interesting to see how it effects the colour of the leaves. It makes the picture really interesting to look at, as well as being very peaceful. The bottom is slightly blurred but it doesn't matter at all. I don't know how to fix that either as I'm having the some sort of problem with these long shots. It doesn’t detract from the image at all though so no worries. :) Very well done!

Sadly, it's not so easy to just listen to the peace and quiet, and the sounds of the breeze against the trees in that forest, because the M5 motorway is right NEXT to it. =( can also be heard from my house, but that's about the only bad thing about the area. Could be so much worse.

Well spotted on the blurry bits. I hadn't noticed. In a way it helps focus the pic, but since it happens for you too, it could be annoying for future photos.

It means alot to me that you enjoyed it, especially, being such a commited photographer as you are. ^^

My pleasure. :) That’s a shame about the M5. Hopefully you'll just be able to zone it out if you are going for a nice walk or something. Best just to ignore it as best you can. ^^ At least it shouldn’t spoil the view to much (as long as you're looking in the opposite direction anyway! ;))

I really enjoy this shot! I like how you can see just a bit of the blue sky behind all the wonderful green of the leafs. Great job with choosing one tree to be the centeral focus, it gives the eye someting to go to which really makes the shot. Without that tree in the center the shot would just be a busy mess. Lovely job!
